Yes you have control points, as their name suggests, control points, you can't mask them out. You can't tweak the colours in Colour effex the way you can in restyle. Plus, color efex puts everything on a separate layer by default anyway, so layer masking that way is easy. Well there is a kind of masking in Color Efex through control points. The ReStyle plugin works as a standalone program or as a plugin. It is very very slow, took like 3 minutes until the start up setup finished. Topaz Restyle allows for quite dramatic changes in image tonality. After that the plugin will retail for $59.99.I played a bit with it and I have to say I was very unimpressed. But I found by looking through the different filters and presets, thereare several that look great and I could spend a good deal of time finding more favorites. The above image was taken at a car show in the early morning causing the image to be washed out in blue.Īfter processing the image with Adobe LIghtroom I used a landscape filter to give it more of a darker look. Its easy to use and it can transform most images in to an artful and retro image. And I have to say this version works well.
